Our Mission

We are Project Mercy 100, a newly founded team of passionate, driven, and experienced sailors with one goal in mind: to conquer the toughest challenges in top-tier yacht racing. Co-founders Scott Hagan and Charlie Ryan-Kane are taking on a mission that many would consider almost impossible. Over the next 100 days, they will be campaigning to attract the attention of Australian billionaire businessman Adrian Portelli, with the hope of securing him as their sponsorship partner. The ultimate aim? To acquire a 100ft Super Maxi yacht and race it for line honors in the 2025 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. The twist? The crew will be made up of today's brightest youth offshore sailors, all aged 30 and under. Yes, you read that right—a 100ft Super Maxi, racing for line honors, crewed by talented youth, and all in just 100 days.

The name "Mercy 100" stems from our admiration for Adrian Portelli's unapologetic, transparent approach to life, which he shares so freely on social media. While his luxurious lifestyle and businesses are impressive, it's clear that his son is at the center of his world. We hope that one day "Mercy" could embody the same leadership and spirit we hope to bring to youth sport. And the number 100? That’s the category of the Super Maxi yacht we aim to race with.

The challenge ahead is monumental, but the team believes that through hard work, smart planning, and sheer passion, we can accomplish something never before seen in the world of sailing.
